Pirates With Purpose
The Pirates with Purpose leadership group is for students in grades 3-5. Students in the group are nominated by teachers and meet periodically to discuss leadership traits. Guest speakers including a firefighter, judge, pastor and coaches meet with the group to talk about how to be good leaders and making good choices in life. Students learn skills such as etiquette, hand-shaking, anger management and being a good friend in order to enhance their education and give them direction as they grow and take on more responsibilities. The Pirates with Purpose also take special field trips each year. Some of these field trips in the past have been seeing a musical, touring a college campus and visiting the Career Technology Education program at the high school and hearing from high school student leaders. These experiences help shape them and motivate them to keep making good choices so they can succeed in life.
