Granbury ISD Names Ammie Hill as Principal of Acton Elementary School

Granbury ISD has named Ammie Hill as the next principal of Acton Elementary School. Following board approval at the April school board meeting, Hill will officially assume her new role and begin leading the campus for the 2026-27 school year.

Hill succeeds Maggie Walton, who was recently named Granbury ISD’s Director of Strategic Initiatives.

A familiar face to the Granbury community, Hill previously served four years in Granbury ISD as an assistant principal at Crossland Ninth Grade Center and later Granbury High School from 2013 to 2017. She returns to the district after seven years in Godley ISD, where she began as assistant principal at Godley High School before serving as principal of Godley Intermediate School and Legacy Elementary. In those roles, she helped lead campus growth, student achievement, and a positive school culture. Prior to moving into administration, Hill spent seven years as a high school social studies teacher in Keene ISD.

“Ammie Hill is an outstanding leader with a proven track record of building strong campus cultures and helping students thrive,” said Dr. Courtney Morawski, Granbury ISD Superintendent. “She understands the importance of relationships, high expectations, and creating a school environment where every child feels valued and supported. We are excited to welcome her back to Granbury ISD.”

Hill said she is excited to return to the district and serve the Acton Elementary community.

“I am incredibly excited to return to Granbury ISD and have the opportunity to lead Acton Elementary,” said Hill. “This community holds a special place in my heart, and I look forward to serving our students, staff, and families while building on the strong traditions and success already established at Acton.”

Hill earned a Master of Education degree from Tarleton State University and a Bachelor of Science in History from Texas Wesleyan University.

Hill is married to Jason Hill. Together they have three children, Jaxon, Maddox, and Nixan.
