Granbury ISD Named 2025 Texas Honor Roll District; Acton Elementary and Oak Woods Recognized as Honor Roll Schools

Granbury ISD has been named to the Educational Results Partnership (ERP) 2025 Texas Honor Roll Districts List in the Star category, a distinction recognizing outstanding academic performance and success in closing achievement gaps among student populations and represents the highest level of recognition on the Texas Honor Roll. GISD is one of 84 school districts across the state to receive this honor.

In addition, Acton Elementary School and Oak Woods School have both been selected to the 2025 Texas Honor Roll Schools List, placing them among the top-performing public schools in the state. This year, only 1,076 schools statewide—approximately 15 percent of eligible public schools in Texas—earned the Honor Roll designation.

“This recognition is a tremendous honor and highlights the hard work happening in our classrooms every single day.,” said GISD Superintendent Dr. Courtney Morawski. “Our teachers, campus leaders, and support staff are deeply committed to meeting students where they are and helping them grow, and our families play a vital role in that partnership. Being named a Texas Honor Roll District, along with Acton Elementary and Oak Woods earning individual state recognition, is something our entire community can be proud of.”

The Texas Honor Roll, now in its eleventh year, is compiled by Educational Results Partnership, a nonprofit organization that evaluates public schools and districts based on objective student achievement data from the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR). The 2025 list reflects student performance across the 2023–2025 academic years and highlights districts and schools that consistently demonstrate high levels of achievement, academic growth over time, and meaningful progress in closing opportunity gaps, particularly for higher-poverty and historically disadvantaged student groups.

Granbury ISD’s Honor Roll recognition, along with honors earned by Acton Elementary and Oak Woods School, speaks to a district-wide commitment to academic excellence supported by students, educators, campus leaders, and families working together.
